Our team in the state of Kachin, Myanmar is hard at work as always. Recently, our Daughter Project Clubs and Coordinators in Kachin were able to help 12 girls between the ages of 12-16 escape from a factory. The girls’ families were led to believe they would earn a good salary in a safe working environment… but this was not the case. The girls’ earnings consisted of just $30 USD per month with rations for food and cramped living quarters, and they were sexually abused by the Chinese factory manager.

The good news is that our team has been able to successfully restore the girls back home with their families, and the factory manager has been imprisoned. These pictures reflect some of the awareness activities that our Coordinators facilitate to educate the people of Myanmar about the risks of trafficking and abuse.
